Slavery of the Soul
Always unintentional
But so easy to do!
You disregard the yearnings of your soul,
In favor of a "safe" existence.
Your master is your head and not your heart.
That is like walking thru life with shackles,
With leg irons so heavy that each step is tiring.
And THAT is a sure indication that your living
the life of an indentured servant,
subject to the wants and whims of others,
Losing site of your true nature, and what makes YOU happy.
When that happens, it gets harder to wake up in the mornings,
You are so tired all the time.
You feel the chains of the expectations of others
Weighing you down!
Break free!
Emancipate yourselves!
Break all the locks, remove the chains of living
Someone else's life,
Slavery of your Soul is
Like a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
(written surrounded by the red rocks of Zion National Park)!
What we mean by this is that
Out in your world right now
there are some boiling,
roiling,
simmering,
emotions
held within a seemingly porcelain veneer.
This can be confusing.
You are much more comfortable when
the inside matches the outside,
especially in regards to emotions.
You are witnessing cracks in the delicate
but useful way that certain people have
been able to mask their emotions, and operate
In the world.
When someone who looks to all the world as if they have it all together,
Starts to hiss vitriol thru a smile,
or a person who up until recently has been very measured,
all of the sudden is quick to anger, even throwing things,
and looks to be having a "meltdown",
THAT can be disconcerting...
For you
And for them.
The healthiest, way for your mind and body,
Is always to feel your emotions in the moment.
We do not mean being their victim,
Or being a slave to them.
The goal is to feel them as they come up.
If you do, they stay appropriate.
By that we mean, there is no
"Over reaction" because things have not built
up and boil over at something trivial.
As we are always saying,
When you see this Tempest in a Teapot
Practice compassion.
When the flowers on the porcelain fade,
And the simmering of all their emotions,
causes the pot to crack or overflow,
or break altogether,
Have compassion,
Even if it is you!
There is such a beauty in aging that is grossly
Under appreciated.
There is such wisdom that comes with the accumulated years.
Edges that existed in youth, have worn smooth,
there is less concern about appearance and correctness,
so these later years can be used in service.
Service to the beautiful planet that has been such
a welcoming host,
Service to those that are coming up behind you,
Looking for any and all secrets you can shed some light on.
Each day is such a gift,
And you have been blessed to age.
You have been blessed to make it to this place of
Wisdom and grace.
You know who you are,
You know what you want,
You know your strengths,
And your weaknesses,
You are more and more comfortable in your own skin,
With an innate knowledge of the way things work.
Your roots have grown deep into the earth,
like an ancient redwood,
Or the solid foundation of a lighthouse.
Nothing can shake you,
No storm is too strong, for you have witnessed
And braved many thru your years.
That energy of strength and wisdom
Is your gift to the planet.
It is needed,
No, it is required for you to stand tall
And proud in these, your later years,
And radiate the qualities and talents you have acquired.
The gift of age goes two ways,
It is your turn to give back!
Love this!
Hard to remember, but really a life saver!
If we were there with you on this earthly expedition
you've undertaken,
We would make sure we had our Spiritual Survival Kit with us at all times.
It's not too heavy,
the contents are invaluable
Yet it's so easy to forget!
The number one item in this kit is:
Your sense of humor,
It will get you through any situation,
no matter how tense,
scary,
stressful,
uncomfortable
or unmanageable it may seem.
Without it you are doomed.
Well, maybe not doomed, but it will feel like it!
To help you find your sense of humor,
You may need to take:
A chill pill
Please have plenty of those on hand, and take as needed!
They will help you put situations into perspective
and keep you from taking everything so seriously!
Don't take them on an empty stomach.
They are to be taken with a big meal, with lots of good food
Maybe some wine,
And preferably many good friends!
Next is your map:
Your map is all the books
Teachings,
Seminars,
Classes,
Meditations
and the like, that you have attended and participated
in your whole life.
The knowledge gained form those has accumulated
a vast network of internal discernments,
a sort of spiritual GPS.
Listening to that gut feeling
Will always get you back on track!
Finally your "flashlight"
That is the light you carry with you.
That light in your eyes when something excites you!
If you remember to carry that with you,
your path will always be illuminated.
Don't let others dim your light,
By judging your path,
Or questioning your ways.
These are the contents of YOUR spiritual survival kit.
They have their own!
Now go out there and have some great adventures
knowing that everything is always okay!
Morticia with her eerie kind of Zen serenity...
What sound does your heart make?
When you enter a room?
Is it a singular sound, high pitched and shrill?
that transmits stress against your will?
Is it a layered tapestry of sound,
Where an abundance of different notes abound?
Is it too deep and low to hear?
Beneath the surface of a hard veneer?
We enter a room to find a match,
A heart to which we can attach.
So pay close attention to your heart's broadcast,
If the notes are old, you'll repeat the past.
The song of your heart will synchronize,
To the beat of another's,
Don't compromise.
Be diligent, delightful and wise,
Listen for the heart songs of others,
You'll be surprised.
Let's keep talking on this subject,
and let's stay with the sea analogy.
Think of those times at the beach
when the ocean looked roiling,
the crash of the waves was loud,
and you could feel the powerof them,
travel from your feet, up through your body,
Into your chest.
The energy was palpable, and filled with majesty.
As you wade into the foamy surf,
You're surprised.
It does not knock your off your feet,
As it has in the past.
It comes in fast and deep, but surprisingly gentle.
It allows you to immerse yourself further,
and to swim easily in the white frothy water,
Far from the crashing of the waves.
After awhile you look to the shore for your point of reference,
your umbrella, that tree, a friend,
and you have been shifted, carried down the beach,
by the subtle power of the tide.
Behind the gentle caressing of this surf,
There has been movement.
You have been carried down the shoreline,
To a different, more beautiful part of the beach,
while inside the gentle energy of the sea.
As you find your footing,
It is easy, there is no pull back in,
your landing is soft and you can easily
wade back to shore.
THAT is a perfect analogy for the waves of energy
that have carried you these past few months.
They are surprising gentle, despite their power,
and there has been a gentle movement forward
To a different shoreline,
A different place in life,
after a very soft landing.
This quote is so descriptive to me, I can picture dirty feet when I start to listen to negative talk.
Today is the day of landing into the energy
that started to come in December 2012.
So we suggest you set the intention for a
soft landing.
By that we mean,
get quiet and give this some thought.
These were big influxes of energy,
like waves, and many of you were knocked off your feet,
and have been swimming as hard as you can,
just trying to keep your head above water.
Well, to stay with the wave analogy,
after today's wave,
the tide is settling,
it is still deep and active,
with a big full moon,
but it has churned up your life enough,
and now starts to recede.
And with conscious intention,
you can swim with very little effort,
back to shore,
or let the wave carry you back,
and deposit you.
Intend your soft landing.
Take into account all the changes that have
happened in your life in the last 8 months.
Bless them, for they are like the influx of fresh water
that flushes out a stagnant pool.
All that matters now, today,
is that you give careful deliberation
in the energy of all this change,
of where you want to land.
We would suggest you hit the ground running!
A little banged up, but none the worse for wear,
wiser,
full of new ideas,
calmer,
grabbing the hands of the others coming to shore.
Ready for this next adventure,
because it can truly be whatever you
dream it to be!
Don't forget to feed your soul!
I love this passage!
Are you feeling it?
There is rage walking the streets out there!
Rage is what happens when anger marinates
in self doubt and self pity.
When you just feel so bad about yourself,
that you take it out on the world around you.
Rage is always pointing the finger outward,
when the spotlight should really be pointed inside,
because THAT is where the pain lives.
Rage has a partner,
Victim hood.
Man! they are a nasty pair!
They skulk around in dark corners
feeding each other stories of woe,
justifying all their bad behavior,
and never letting the light take hold.
When you see someone in the grip of rage
the best thing you can do is walk away,
disengage.
Do Not try to argue or rationalize.
They are not rational.
They really cannot be reasoned with.
Remember who is whispering in their ear.
The most courageous thing you can do
is smile.
Not a condescending, "you're crazy" smile,
but an "everything's gonna be okay" smile,
from the heart.
If you know the person, and they are someone close to you,
a hug.
Yes, we said it,
a hug.
an arm around the shoulder,
any loving touch.
Because love is rage's Kryptonite.
Rage evaporates in the presence of real love.
It can no longer hear the negative self talk,
it is out of the mind, and into the heart,
where self doubt,
self pity,
and victim hood
cannot reside.
Don't be afraid of rage,
even your own.
Now that you know it's roots,
have compassion,
and get to the "heart" of the matter.
You may be feeling confused,
but really you are not.
That feeling comes when you question where you stand,
as if something about it is wrong.
Listening to your head, your intellect, can lead you astray.
Listening with your heart will always set you straight.
When you feel confused, the universe, your navigation system,
is letting you know you have gone off course.
You know those maps you all look at on your phones while driving?
Ha! that is a lecture for another day!
Anyway, you all do it.
It has your destination as a red dot,
and where you stand currently as a pulsing blue dot.
Now you know how you feel when you've driven
past or around the red dot destination?
And you, the blue dot, keep moving away from where you want to be?
You feel a little confused.
Did you make a right turn when you should have gone left?
That feeling of confusion is just what happens when you
get off course.
It usually happens when you over-think the directions,
and doubt the validity of where you are.
All that is needed is a little course correction
and you're back on your way.
You were never really lost,
nothing was ever really wrong,
and you can thank confusion
for getting your attention
and guiding you back to your path.
